How long are the routes?
They are usually about 3.5 – 4 hours. Our Kyoto City Adventures and Arashiyama route is usually over 4 hours.
Are small children ok?
Our tours are suitable for anyone over the age of 13 who can ride a bicycle. Like most urban cyclists in Kyoto, we typically ride on the sidewalks when possible for a more enjoyable experience.
Do you ride in bad weather?
Comfort and safety of our guests is our highest priority, therefore we usually cancel our bookings if we foresee a 50 percent chance of rain or greater. These will be canceled the day before. There is not much we can do in the rainy season however, so during this time we deal with the rain if and when it comes. It’s very unpredictable so we have raincoats!
What's the best route for me?
Our easiest and most popular route is probably our Secret Kyoto Route. We recommend this route for families with children as traffic is minimal and you can relax and chat more while you pedal.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are 100 percent refundable up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are non refundable. We ask that you let us know of your cancellation as soon as possible. No-shows are nonrefundable. We reserve the right to cancel tours due to heavy rain, storms, or inclement weather. These cancellations will be refunded 100 percent.
Is it safe riding in Kyoto?
Totally! We try our best to ensure that the group stays together at all times, therefore we always ride at a speed that is appropriate for all our guests. Please never hesitate to inform your guide about any requests or concerns you may have during the tour, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service and support along the way. Although water is provided at the start of the tour, we are always happy to stop for a quick refreshment when necessary. We recommend that our customers use the helmets provided at all times and obey all local traffic and safety laws.
